Queen of Spite · Effective 24 October 2026

In short: Queen of Spite has no accounts and no ads. Your game progress stays on your phone. We don't sell your data, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't ask for your name, email or location. To fix crashes and improve the game, the app sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports through Google Firebase.

Who we are

Queen of Spite (the "game") is made by Tomáš Husár, Czech Republic ("we", "us"). If you have any question about your data, write to support@boredodin.com.

What stays on your device

The game saves your progress on your phone: unlocked charms, rivals, Tables, avatars and looks, feats, statistics, settings, the Daily Deal and weekly records, story progress, and a run in progress. It also keeps the nickname and animal avatar you pick, and a random guest ID the game creates on first launch. None of this is uploaded to us. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include it, under that service's terms.

Cloud save

So your progress can follow you to a new phone, the game keeps a copy of it (the same progress as above, without your settings or the run in progress) in your own Apple or Google storage: on iPhone and iPad in iCloud key-value storage under your Apple ID and in your device's Keychain; on Android in your Google backup. Apple or Google stores it under their terms; we never receive it and can't read it. There is no account and no server of ours involved. To remove it, use Settings → Reset all progress in the game, which erases the copy too; turning off iCloud for the game, or Google backup, stops it.

Purchases

The game is free to download. One optional in-app purchase, The Full Game, unlocks the rest. Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles the payment. We never see your card or payment details. The store tells the game that the purchase went through, with a transaction ID, so the game can unlock the full game and restore it later.

Anonymous statistics and crash reports

The game uses two Google services:

ServiceWhat it receivesWhy
Firebase AnalyticsGame events (for example: a run started or ended, how far it got, whether the full game offer was shown or bought, a story choice), with your device model, operating system, app version, language and an approximate region derived from your IP address. Events carry a random app-instance ID, plus whether you have the full game, how many runs you've played and how many days ago you installed. To see which parts of the game work and where players get stuck, and to balance and improve the game.
Firebase CrashlyticsWhen the game crashes or hits a serious error: the technical details of the crash, device model, operating system and app version, and a random installation ID.To find and fix bugs.
Firebase Remote ConfigA random app-instance ID, the app version and your region. To fetch game settings (for example balance values) without an app update.

This data is not linked to your name, email or any account, and we don't combine it with other data about you. We don't use it for advertising. Google processes it on our behalf (see Firebase privacy and security). Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days.

The game doesn't ask for permission to track you and doesn't read your device's advertising identifier.

Playing with friends

When you host or join a table on your Wi-Fi, your nickname, avatar and your moves in the game are shared with the other players at that table. The host's phone runs the table, and another player's phone keeps a copy of the game so the table can continue if the host leaves. Nearby phones on the same Wi-Fi can see that a table is open, with the host's nickname. All of this stays on your local network: it doesn't pass through our servers. Pick a nickname you're happy for others to see.

Online tables

When you host or join an online table, the game signs in to Google Firebase anonymously: Firebase creates a random user ID for this install, with no name, email or other detail attached. The table's messages pass through Firebase Realtime Database: your nickname, avatar, seat and your moves, the game state each player is allowed to see (never other players' cards), and a timestamp every few seconds so the table knows who is still there. Only the players at that table can read it. Each player's messages are deleted as soon as they're read; the whole table is deleted about half a minute after the game ends, and a table everyone abandoned is deleted after about an hour. We don't use any of it for anything else, and we don't keep it.

Game Center and Google Play Games

If you're signed in to Game Center (iPhone, iPad) or Google Play Games (Android), the game reports the feats you earn as achievements, and your Daily Deal, House Special and heaviest-hit scores to their leaderboards. Apple or Google run these services under their own terms and privacy policies, and show your achievements and scores, with your Game Center or Play Games nickname, to you and, on leaderboards, to other players. We don't receive your Apple or Google account details. You can sign out, or hide your profile, in the system settings of Game Center or Play Games.

What we don't do

  • No ads, and no advertising SDKs in the game.
  • No selling or renting of data, and no sharing for advertising.
  • No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
  • No access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location.
  • No accounts, so no email or password to keep (online tables use an anonymous ID, see above).

Children

Queen of Spite is a card game for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The game has no accounts, chat or purchases without the store's own parental controls. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because the game has no accounts, we usually can't tell which statistics are yours. Write to support@boredodin.com and we'll help as far as we can. Deleting the game removes its data from your phone and starts a new random ID if you install it again.

Legal bases (EU/UK): providing the game and your purchase (contract); anonymous statistics and crash reports (our legitimate interest in keeping the game working and improving it).

Where data is processed

Google may process Firebase data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the EU or UK, Google relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Security

Data sent to Firebase travels encrypted (HTTPS). Your progress on the phone is protected by your device's own security.

Changes

If the game starts doing something new with data, we'll update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top.
